Dexter Axle Releases New Torflex® Removable Spindle Option
ELKHART, INDIANA (April 16, 2014)
Dexter Axle, the leading manufacturer of trailer axles and trailer brakes for over 50 years, announced the release of a removable spindle option on select Torflex® axles. The removable spindle option, available on new axles, will allow trailer owners to simply remove and replace damaged spindles in the field without purchasing a new axle beam. This new option features Dexter’s E-Z Lube® grease system.
"Our customers were looking for an easy way to replace damaged spindles without having the extra cost and hassle of changing out a complete axle", explains Bryan Thursby, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Dexter Axle. "While the removable spindle has been very successful in marine applications, we believe this has opportunities in other industries such as horse and livestock trailers, enclosed cargo trailers, and open utility trailers."
The Dexter Removable Spindle is engineered with a patented positive spindle location with "D" washer design along with a detent groove which ensures proper brake flange location, taking out the guess work with no measuring required. With only one bolt to remove and no special tools necessary, the replacement process takes approximately 15 minutes once the hub or hub, drum & brake are removed.
This option is available on new Dexter Torflex axles ranging from 1,000 – 7,000 lbs (Dexter Models #9, #10, #11, and #12) in all standard start angles.
