The Quality Engineer will assist the Senior Quality Manager in developing and implementing strategic plans to improve plant Safety, Quality, and Efficiency while ensuring product and processes adhere to robust quality and engineering policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Analyze failure, corrective, and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
- Lead teams through problem identification, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Experience with Quality tools, such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone diagrams, process mapping.
- Investigating and troubleshooting product, process, or production issues
- Responsible for assisting with continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
- Identify and review Part Qualification documents such as First Article Inspection, Gage R&R, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, capability study, control plan, process validation etc.
- Monitoring, analyzing, reporting, and communicating quality metrics and performance.
- Supplier development, validation, and supplier quality
- Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Develop requirements for quality inspection of incoming material from supplier.
- Facilitate the completion of Supplier Corrective Action Request and Vendor Quality Notices from supplier.
- Monitor outside and internal part and process capabilities.
- Identify and implement Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Cost improvement projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in quality, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 2 years’ experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, continuous improvement or similar role
- Knowledge of Quality System Auditing, Root Cause Corrective Action, Six Sigma principles, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, Capability Studies and Statistical Process Controls
- 1 year manufacturing environment experience preferred.
- 1 year ISO or IATF preferred.
- ASQ or Black Belt certification preferred.
