How to Replace an RV Dome for Ventadome®
Time to Complete: 10 minutes (depending on the level of expertise)
Tools Required:
1. Ventadome (V2092 or V2094)
2. #2 Phillips Screwdriver
3. Drill
These instructions apply to vents on utility, travel, motorhome, RV, and horse trailers.
Steps:
- Use your drill to unscrew all the screws holding the garnish onto the ceiling.
- Make sure that you save all the screws when you remove the garnish because you will reuse these screws.
- Remove the screen by gently pulling it upwards.
- Remove the screw on the operator’s handle with a #2 Phillips Screwdriver. Once the screw is removed, pull off the handle to remove it.
- Slide off the inside trim piece.
- Remove the two screws on the operator with your drill and slide the operator off the dome.
- Safely go onto the roof of your trailer to remove the dome.
- Replace the dome and line up the holes on the hinge. Then close the dome on the roof.
- Back inside your trailer and reinstall your operator. Take the clip of the operator and slide it on the runner on the dome.
- Using the two screws you removed from the operator, reinstall them using a drill.
- Place the trim piece back on.
- Pop the screen back into place
